Lucky Dog Strikes Again
Thursday’s transport started with a 1 hour delay due to heavy rain in the Keys. Once airborne, I flew to from Marathon to Ft Lauderdale and picked up 6 dogs that needed a ride to Thomasville, GA. I departed Ft Lauderdale and flew direct to Thomasville, GA arriving at 11:30am.
I met up with Amy Rockwell who was sending 13 dogs south to Tampa after the first round of passengers was unloaded. The two American Bulldogs were catching a flight with another pilot (Jurianne) who would continue to hand off these two until they made it to Pennsylvania (4 pilot transport). The Basset and the Doxie seniors would be ground transported to foster in Jacksonville and will eventually make it to New England and their forever home. The last two were going to foster in Taccoa, GA.
We loaded up the 13 Thomasville dogs and departed for Tampa, dodging a few rain showers along the way. The 4 rescues met me at the airport (Poodle Rescue, Dogma, Honor and Beagle Rescue) and took charge of their new dogs.
The last leg was a leisurely, uneventful trip back to the Florida Keys.
