Indy Heads for New York
Dean completed his frist PnP flight. Thanks Dean! The events from Dean’s point of view.
Indy is an English Pointer. His trip east began in Bottineau, ND. At the end of the first day he reached Schaumberg, IL where he stayed overnight. By 3:00 PM on day two, timing delayed a little for an extra fuel stop by the prior pilot, he reached me at Columbia Station (4G8), Ohio for my leg to Jamestown, NY. Once airborne, Indy fell asleep. When we hit a little turbulence he did stir and let out a little noise which was not a sigh. I immediately thought of the Seinfeld episode in which Kramer fed the Rusty the horse too much Spaghetti-O’s and cries out “Rusty” because he could not take the odor.
Indy was then transported via ground via two additional legs. He reached his final destination, Rochester, NY that evening. This transport involved 13 legs. For those pilots new to Pilots n Paws who may have some concern about transporting, I had similar feelings. I only hope that your first fight went as smoothly as mine.
As Sunday afternoon arrived I became more excited. This flying was different from the “let’s go eat” flying I have done; it saved the life of one of our four legged companions.
