Nova the Greyhound.. A Happy Ending

Scott Messinger shares Nova’s story.

This is a story of hope and recovery. It’s the kind of story we, at Pilots N Paws, love to be a part of. Nova was removed from a home in Huntington, West Virginia, where she was found totally starved and near death. Her body weight was down to 19 lbs, and her systems were shutting down.

After months of care, Nova slowly began to recover. During her recovery, Nova became a cause celebre for the animal lovers of Huntington. People cheered her recovery, as she got stronger each day. The media reported on her progress, and as you can see, Nova is now the picture of health.

When Pilots N Paws was contacted regarding her transport, we knew that we wanted to play a part in Nova’s story. This was a long trip, as we went from Philadelphia to West Virginia, to Mass and back to Philly in one day, covering 1200 mi and 9 hours…. Nova is now residing at GREYHOUND FRIENDS in Hopkinton, Mass, where we hope she will live out her life surrounded by the kindness she deserves.
