Flying Home for Good

Non-profit organizations Home for Good Dog Rescue and Pilots N Paws teamed up to give twenty-two puppies and dogs the flight of their lives. Home for Good Dog Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Summit, New Jersey. They first started working with Pilots N Paws, a group that connects volunteer pilots with animal rescues, in January. The groups have formed a relationship and continue to work together to save the lives of innocent animals.

On Thursday, May 16th, Home for Good had their 4th plane transport through Pilots N Paws. This transport was a little different than the others; many volunteer pilots coordinated to fly not one, but three planes from South Carolina to New Jersey. More planes equals more lives saved. The precious cargo landed at Morristown Airport around 4pm, with each plane landing about 15 minutes apart. The pups were helped off of the plane by volunteers then transported to Home for Good’s offices in Berkeley Heights where they were bathed, groomed and prepped to go into their local foster home.

We are thankful for our pilot friends.

Home for Good Dog Rescue is a 100% foster-based rescue; each dog that they save and bring back to New Jersey goes directly into a foster home in the local area. Home for Good has a network of about fifty dedicated foster families. These families play a huge role in saving the lives of these dogs. If you are interested in becoming a foster for Home for Good, fill out an application at www.HomeForGoodDogs.org. “Your home is the best shelter a dog can have”…that is their motto. Once the pups travel from the kill shelters in the South up North, they will never again be put back into a shelter.

The very lucky puppies and dogs that flew up on Thursday were available for adoption on Saturday, May 18th at the Village Green in Summit, New Jersey. Thanks to Home for Good and Pilots N Paws, fourteen of the twenty-two dogs went to their forever homes that day.

To adopt a dog from Home for Good Dog Rescue, a pre-approval application must be filled out on their website at www.HomeForGoodDogs.org. Applications can also be filled out on site at adoption events. The complete information on how to adopt from Home for Good can be found on their website. Home for Good Dog Rescue works very hard to find the right match for both the dogs and the potential adopters. Find more information about Pilots N Paws at www.PilotsNPaws.org

Thank you for bringing these puppies to their forever homes. My brother and sister-n-law rescued one of your puppies on May 18th. His name was Taner. He has brought so much happiness into their home. He’s so much fun and what an amazing life he will have with them. Lucky Little Guy he is.
