Storm Heads Home
Amy Lusty with the Echo Dogs White Shepherd Rescue faced another logistical challenge. After successfully organizing Tulah’s trip earlier this year, she was now working on the transport of a cute male White German Shepherd from Florida to his adoptive home in Baltimore, Maryland.
These trips to adoptive families are emotionally rewarding because everyone knows the dogs are going to families who will love and take care of them. Amy started to work with her team of volunteers, some of whom were involved in Tulah’s rescue. She also reached out to PilotsNPaws to assist her and since the route was similar to the previous one, 3 of the PNP pilots involved with Tulah’s rescue accepted the challenge again and assisted in Storm’s travel.
Starting from Winter Haven with Joan, Storm was driven by volunteers Chris, Sandy, Beatrice and another Chris all the way to Savannah, GA where he spent the night with Danielle. The next morning Pilot Rob and his son Lukas took him for a Mooney ride to Lancaster, SC where he met again with Pilot Christophe and his wife Larysa. They flew their Cardinal to Danville, VA where they met with Pilot Frank. He flew Storm to Stafford, VA where he had the opportunity to meet with Doug and Karen, the adoptive family who took Storm for his final ride home.
Contrary to Tulah’s trip which was delayed by bad weather, Storm’s transportation happened smoothly and with a gorgeous Spring weather. Go figure!
UPDATE: Debra, Storm’s adopter, says “Things could not be better and I couldn’t ask for a better brother for Lily!! Thanks again for everything from the bottom of my heart!!! She put together a photo album to share.
