Pilot Lilly’s First PNP Flight Permanently Delayed

Our first PNP flight was delayed because of heavy rain!  We picked the Dalmatian up from the Shelter outside of Birmingham to foster her here until it was safe to fly.  As it turned out, she was actually much older than they originally thought, a senior dog at 10+ years.  Her teeth are ground down to nothing from eating rocks and she is extremely underweight. During her stay here she kissed, wagged and wiggled her way into our hearts and Dalmatian Rescue of Tampa Bay agreed to let us adopt her! So, our first flight might look like a total wash to some, but it is a complete WIN to us!

Love, Lilly and Pearl

Not all failures are bad and this is definitely proof of that!!! A win-win or should we say a “love-love” situation all around. Thank you for having such tender hearts and good luck, Lady Lilly!!

Your organization brought up Penny lane to me from down south. Thank you for everything, congrats on your baby too! Love.

  7. We are thrilled that Pearl found such a loving home, even before arrival in Tampa. We hope there will be other flights for Lilly… so many dogs need to get from shelters to rescue or from rescue to adopters. Thank-you for loving this senior girl, wish they all could such happy “tails”.

You know what they say….Everything for a reason. So the reason for the weather delay was so that you could get to know Lilly. Just meant to be :o)

What a wonderful story though it makes me miss our beloved Dalmatian,LotsaDots (Dottie), SO much. She adopted us after my husband pulled her out of a busy street and we never found her home. They were the best 12 years of our lives. Love her “Lotsa”, you are all so lucky.

  16. Maureen says:

I hope Pearl lives many many years to enjoy your love and protection. God bless you for your kindness!

Such a wonderful story, I understand how you felt about Lilly. I have kept four of my foster babies. They just touch my heart and I couldn’t let them go. God bless you for adopting Lilly and God bless you for all that you do to help animals finding their new loving and FURever homes.

This is one of the happy hazards of rescue work. I have four “failed fosters” myself – meaning I failed to let them go. Congrats on the new family member!

A truly happy tail! But Lilly if this is your first Dalmatian feel free to drop me a line; many of them cannot process purine and are prone to developing potentially deadly urate stones. I had a male stone-former for nearly 13 years (after rescuing him as a stray); we went thru the surgery once — it nearly killed him and nearly broke me! Never again! I’d recommend Hill’s Prescription Diet Canine Dry U/D along with a hard-boiled egg and some canola oil; if her teeth are ground down you can add a little water and nuke it. Thank you for all you do!

I had my dal for 16 yrs, so you have many more years to make happy memories. Thanks for adopting a senior.
