Pointer Rescue

Frederick was a starving stray pointer who was picked up by Amarillo, TX animal control. His days were numbered until Deb Druan of Pointer Rescue learned about his plight and posted a mission request to Pilots N Paws.

A number of pilots responded, but, in the end, it was a first-time PNP pilot, Mark Cecil of Midland, TX who stepped up. Mark and his wife, Barbie, flew to Amarillo on May 18 to retrieve Frederick from Paige Petro, a local volunteer who pulled him from the pound.  They flew him back to Midland, cleaned him up, and boarded him overnight.

On May 19, Mark and Barbie flew Frederick to Llano, TX to rendezvous with Houston pilot Wade Roberts, who transported the pup back to Houston to Nancy Parr, a volunteer foster who is nursing him back to health. Frederick was the perfect passenger, report Mark and Wade.

Wade got the shot of Frederick surveying the sky and Texas Hill Country below him. Like veteran PNP pilot Jim Carney, TN, Wade believes that the rescue dogs somehow know that they are flying to happier lives and brighter and loving futures.

Did you all know that Nancy Parr lost Frederick? He went missing on June 13th in Cypress, TX and it was a week before she even let anyone know. He had been approved for adoption to Shirley Friis in KY, home visit was done, and THEN she came clean and admitted that he was missing. Shirley has been desperately trying to find Frederick. Here’s the Facebook link to his “missing” poster: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=622238244453694&set=o.117932501946&type=1&theater

Rita, I WAS his new family but his foster mother went to Italy on vacation and left him in the yard. He escaped and now he has been missing for almost 3 weeks. So right now there is NO happy ending to Fredrick’s story. There is an $800.00 reward for his safe return.

I can only say all of you are amazing people! I love animals so much and for work reasons I can’t have a friend at home. I believe all animals do know they’re going to a bette home.
Thank you for doing it and give them a chance !!!

    You guys are angels !

We received this info forwarded from our rescue group in subdivision Fairfield, Cypress, TX at Hwy 290/Mason Rd. Where exactly did this gorgeous baby get out? We could sure use subdivision at least and hopefully, street names even close might help.AND, exact day he got loose too as we will be checking Craigslist, shelters, etc. so a date will help there too. We don’t care about the $$$ only that Shirley might have some sort of resolve of his safety. Feel free to email me privately with as much info as possible as I have great networking for dogs not just in Cypress, but even more so throughout the US so will be checking Houston and surrounding areas to with forwarded info they might need.
