Pilots N Paws

AOPA Summit

Pilots N Paws was able to be a part of the AOPA Summit October 10-12 in Fort Worth, TX.  Several volunteers manned the booth over the course of three days to help build awareness and recruit new pilots.  Of course, there was plenty of visiting for pilots already involved, whether they’ve done one or one hundred flights.

Mike and Mary Reddick headed up the local effort organizing the crew, planning schedules, making the booth look great, and returning all the items back to South Carolina when all was done.

The AOPA Foundation is a separate arm of AOPA and is a charity committed to supporting Americans’ freedom to fly and to building a legacy for the future of general aviation.   They were very active at the summit.  Pilots N Paws was fortunate enough to be one of the organizations to receive a Giving Back grant from the foundation.  Thank you so much to the committee that saw the benefit of PnP and followed that up in an impactful way.  The grant went in part to help sponsor the flyaway that helped to save over 500 dogs on October 5th.

In case you are shopping for holiday cards, don’t forget that the foundation has a great selection of aviation themed cards at very reasonable prices.

Lisa said of the effort, “I know we made numerous, solid connections with potential pilots, even including one of the FBO shuttle drivers at Meacham.”

Hi, I think its awesome what you do to help animals. I am rescuing a sweet little Min Pin x that is in Orange California. I am in Tennessee and I need to fly her here. Is there anyone that could help me with this?
    TY and God Bless

As an AOPA member and a PNP pilot myself, all I can say is “Fantastic!” What a great representation of our activity to the pilot community!
