Canines fly away to a new chance at life

1014CanineLAST UPDATED ON 07:40 AM 10/14/13BY THE GAZETTE-VIRGINIAN

Seven happy pups and one lucky mama were among those rescued Tuesday at Tuck Airport.

Emma and her pups wagged their tails as two volunteer pilots, Jeff and Scott of Pilots N Paws in Pennsylvania, landed and picked up this precious cargo.

Along with the family, Princess Leia (AKA Theresa), a very pregnant Chow Mix, got her wings and a chance at life with a fur-ever home for herself and her future pups.

The canines were scheduled to make a stop in Charleston, West Virginia, before landing in Willingboro, New Jersey to reside with the Burlington County Animal Alliance.

Anyone interested in fostering or who wants to be involved in this rescue effort can contact Sarah Shelton at[email protected] or call 866-553-7365.
