Remembering Tony Kelly
One of our volunteer pilots lost his life in a plane crash in New Jersey.
Tony Kelly shared his passion for aviation in a variety of ways. He was, of course, active in the Pilots N Paws community. He was also an air traffic controller and may well have helped a few pilots with their furry cargo through his airspace. He was generous with his knowledge of what happens on the other side of the radar scope.
Tony left us early at just 43. During the dash (1970 – 2013), Tony made the best of the time he had including helping out some innocent animals and flying them to where their new hope awaited. If you worked with TKATC on the forum, you were a recipient of his generosity. Many more would certainly have benefited if he had some more time. His family knew how much he cared for the work done by Pilots N Paws, demonstrated by the fact they asked donations be made to the organization in Tony’s honor.
A friend shared these words, “For those who never met the guy, this is probably the best way to remember him; a well-rounded, funny guy who accepted folks immediately and with a smile.”
Our most heart-felt condolences to his wife, son, family, and friends. Tony, you will be missed.
If you would care to share your memories with the family, you can do so here.
