As most of you know, I mainly move dogs and cats that are in danger of being euthanized at kill shelters in the southeast and get them to rescue groups wherever they may be.

And while yesterdays transport was no different in that regard, it also involved a medical transport, a long distance adoption, and the reuniting of one dog and one cat with their original owners after they had found themselves hundreds of miles from home.

The English Bulldog from Miami had knee surgery on one leg and was going to Gainesville, FL to his foster/adoptive home.

The 13 year old Yorkie was stolen from a families front yard in Tampa, FL around Thanksgiving and ended up in a kill shelter in Auburn, AL. Thanks to her microchip her owner in Tampa was contacted and we were able to reunite the pair through a ground/air transport.

“Buster” was adopted from Tyler, Tx just prior to being put down and thanks to three other PNP pilots (Wade Roberts, Mark Molina and Sean Fitzgerald) they were able to get him to Alabama where I had set up a foster until my flight. His adopter is in Fort Myers, Florida.

Sam the Cat was being transported from Colorado to Key West and got away from the transporter at a Hot Springs, Arkansas camp area about two months ago. The camp host was notified and Sam was finally located living with a family of Raccoons in a culvert. Ground transport moved Sam to Birmingham, AL where he was fostered for this trip.

The rest of the transport pups were sent to rescue groups in the Tampa area. (Suncoast, Kelly Curtis and Lori Spaulding).

The last two photos are of the Yorkie and Sam the cat back where they belong.

You and all the pilots give hope to humanity. My father was a pilot in WWII. He continued flying as a volunteer until 5 years before he passed at age 79. So I have so much respect for pilots. To dedicate your time to saving animals. Dogs especially and cats is a gift yo us. People who love animals and often feel hopeless to help. You all are hope. God bless you

Your story and the many others I read about PNP inspire all of us No Kill advocates around Memphis. Do you come our way? We can raise a lot of PNP money down here – as you know Memphis is a very high kill city. But forces are at work to change this (new ordinances). We would love to have a Hinesville flyaway, but we don’t know where to begin. ZI am leading No Kill campaign in Olive Branch MS outside Memphis. How can I learn more? I know we can raise good money if we get a few flights and some PR going. Thanks for this great kindness, Chuck Reinhorn 662-890-9552

  45. Eric Taylor says:

For those of you reading this you have to know what a great guy he is. I am part of a transport group in Alabama, Alabama Rescue Relay. I have had the pleasure of not only meeting Jeff but also in delivering alot of the abused dogs from kill shelters in Alabama saved by volunteer rescue groups there. We have met in Greenville, Al and Mariana, FL and I can attest to the fun and caos of loading up to 40-45 dogs on hus plane. Talk about a jigsaw puzzle. Without Jeff, many of the dogs ARR has transported to him would be dead. Jeff has personally transported over 2000 dogs and will increase that number this year by taking more of our Alabama dogs. Get this, Jeff is helping to arrange on March 1st a transport from Bainsbridge, Georgia that will involve 13 or more planes and pilots and maybe 200 or more dogs to rescues in Florida. I am a transporter but our volume here in central Alabama, 343 dogs since January 1st, would not be at all possible without Jeff and the other PNP pilots, like Ed Golly, who has flown more than 1000 dogs. Thank you Jeff. I hope to have many more trips to you plane this year.
Eric Taylor – Alabama Rescue Relay
