First Puppylift of 2014 and a fabulous event February 1st!

Wednesday, 29 January 2014 09:49
What a weekend! Four separate puppylift flights over four days!Last Friday morning bright and early one dog and four puppies hitched a ride to Florida thanks to Elisabeth Jordgrav and family, where after a brief romp and rest, they continued on to Denver, to Outpaws Rescue and C.A.W.L.  As an amazing postscript to the Denver part of this, THREE of the dogs have already found their forever homes!  Puppies Beaker and Uma, and five year shelter resident, Bravo, was adopted by her foster mom who took less than 24 hours to fall head over heels with this sweet girl.Friday afternoon Destiny traveled first class with Diane to her forever home in Pennsylvania where she has been reunited with her puppies Bonnie and Clyde, who Diane adopted last year. Diane came all the way down here just to pick up Destiny!

Saturday morning some amazing Pilots N Paws pilots flew over here in a beautiful plane thanks to plane owner Sam, and some great pilots.  They flew 26 precious souls (3 adults and 23 adolescent and young puppies) to Ft Pierce, where they were picked up by and for rescue friends around Florida including Luvapet Rescue andGerman Shepherd Rescue of Central Florida.

Monday morning 9 more puppies flew to new rescue friends on Florida’s west coast thanks to another Pilots N Paws pilot, Jim Clabaugh, who had seen our plea on the PNP message board and arranged to stop in Freeport on his way home from Exuma!

Big paws up and thanks to everyone who helped on this end and the Florida end including Patricia Goodchild Picornell who flew four of the dogs a bit further north to make their ground transport ride.  So many people to thank; Heike and Mandy in Ft. Lauderdale, Bayview Animal Hospital, all the pilots and transporters including Lynda Carlson, Mary Hutchinson, Arna Cortazzi, Jayna and Bernie Hamel, and Chrysta Olsen.

41 precious souls saved; thanks once again to a small army of amazing compassionate people who made it happen.  You can view the Facebook album of the entire weekend here:
