It is with a heavy heart we must bring you sad news about our beloved Lad.

As much as Lad and all his angels tried he had to leave us and has crossed over the  rainbow bridge.
Lad is now in the hands of all the angels in the universe and we know he is tugging at  their heart strings as much as he did ours.
Everyone who met him fell in love instantly and even those who never met him fell in  love with his sweet face.
PNP wants to thank all of you for your loving support for this precious Rough Collie.
The well wishes from all over the nation for Lad while he was with us and  condolences  sent since he’s left us are simply overwhelming.

It’s an amazing story of unconditional love, devotion and kindness for man’s best friend  from mankind.

I followed Lad from the very first day!
    He will never be forgotten!

You wouldn’t want me to suffer so.
When the time comes, please, let me go.
Take me to where to my needs they’ll tend,
Only, stay with me till the end
And hold me firm and speak to me
Until my eyes no longer see.
I know in time you will agree
It is a kindness you do to me.
Although my tail its last has waved,
From pain and suffering I have been saved.
Don’t grieve that it must be you
    Who has to decide this thing to do;
We’ve been so close — we two — these years,
Don’t let your heart hold any tears.

    Run free Lad!
    Live, Love, Lad

How terrible this is, for Lad who suffered so much and for all you people fighting so hard to save him… I feel for you all and wish you strength to handle this great loss.
I feel as if my Rough Collie has died again. Gentle soul…

I have followed Lad’s story from beginning to end and now his new beginning in heaven. He was truly everything that everyone has said. There are so many people involved in his care and were there to give him the love that he so deserved. To all of you and all of those behind the scenes that were involved….a HUGE thank you. Thank you for all you did for Lad and all that you continue to do for these beautiful animals.

Thank you Pilots N Paws for getting Lad out to CA in February. Although it was not the outcome we wanted, getting him there gave him a chance to live.

  8. Mary Kay Matthews says:

Thank you pilots n paws for getting Lad to UC Davis…i was one of the 1st smitten by his sweet face and worked on getting his transport. I and many of my friends donated to this noble cause…i looked everyday for updates…i am so sad and sob for his and our loss…i miss his brave, loving soul and won’t ever forget him or how perfect strangers pulled together for him…I’m a complete sucker for Collies. They’re the best!! Yogi is my 3rd…14 months…just a pup…he would have loved Lad too ♡♡♡. Thank you again.

  10. Paulette Overall says:

I was tuned in from when they first brought him in. I watched his journey, and your intervention to take him to the west coast. We all had so much hope for him, and there is a multitude of followers just like me. Now, who will make sure that the evil person who did this will pay for it? I believe there has already been a hearing, but I am so fearful that this will be swept under the rug. That would be such an injustice to Lad.

  11. Fawn says:

RIP<3 Sweet Boy. :'( I'm so sorry someone did this to you….

  12. George says:

So very sorry to hear of Lad’s passing. As a PnP pilot, I have an idea as to how many good people have worked together to help this sweet boy. Thank you all.

What I don’t understand at all, is how any person could do this. I know it happens to our fur covered friends as well as people, but I just can not comprehend this act of cruelty.

  13. Donna says:

Please help put the man away who hurt LAD so viciously, write letters, the addresses for the legal people involved are being posted on FB, sign the petition, write and spread the word. I followed LAD from the first, and was amazed at his loving spirit after being hurt by a person, he loved and wanted loved with no fear. He worked to do anything he needed to so he could eat, and hold a toy, and fly on a plane without fear. I have to think of the grand plan of LAD, or I disolve into tears. How could an animal live through what LAD did with all the pain and fear, yet bring so many people together the world over for good, for fund raising, sharing stories and comfort and love. I think LAD was always an angel, here on a mission given by God. LAD came to help put other animals suffering to an end, to make more people aware with his loving pretty soft collie face, with his bibs and blankets, and his look of happiness always. I like to think he really didn’t feel any pain, God spared him while doing his work. Now it is time for us to continue that work. Make people have a fear of hurting an animal, bring strong and long sentences and fines, take their animals away before they can hurt them again, whatever it takes. Lets all come together not only for LAD but for animals past and present, and for all those who took care of him during his time with us all. LAD, you are loved and missed.
