Dusty Simmons, a wonderful pilot in Austin, TX, volunteered to transport Timmie, a little chi that the foster mom said she was taking really good care of. She told Karyn Aspan she spent $2,000 on him of her own money and was not going to charge Karyn as she was bringing him for every little sneeze.

On Thursday morning Sept. 25, 2014 a wonderful lady, Mary Steelman, offered to pick Timmie up from his foster in Sugar Land, TX. Karyn had not seen any pictures or talked to anyone. This was making her nervous. She finally talked to Mary who had sent pictures of Timmie and he was so neglected in his foster home. This was a friend for 2.5 years that was taking care of him, someone Karyn had trusted. The photos she sent made her cry. Mary got him to Dusty, the pilot, who agreed this poor dog was so neglected. This now became an emergency flight to get Timmie home and right to the vet.

See, Timmie was flying home to his adopters, and Karyn had to call the adopters to let them know about the state of Timmie; they did not care and wanted him regardless. The flight began as getting Timmie home and ended up rushing him to the vet. The vet said he had a staph infection, ringworm, yeast infection, skin infection, and tapeworm. He will be on medications for some time. The vet took scrapings and is watcing over little Timmie who his adopters are fostering until he is better.

The reports from Gully, the vet he had seen when he was pulled, showed there was nothing wrong with this dog. Timmie also now has periodontal disease. In 17 months he went from having mild tarter to periodontal disease. This was such a sad case of neglect that Karyn had ever seen.

Timmie is on his road to recovery, with time, love, patience, and understanding he will grow, but there are things that will never be the same, like his poor little ears that were clipped somehow and not be a vet. Thank GOD for Pilots N Paws and the fast action of the ground transporter, Mary, and Dusty who flew Timmie all the way to IL. Dusty and Mary are this dog’s heros! Bless them both.
