Flight for Merica and Pax, quite an Adventure!

Flight for Merica and Pax, quite an Adventure!

Little “Merica” was a stray into the Picayune, MS animal shelter.  She had to be shaved quite a bit since she was found to be quite a mess.  She was very timid in the shelter but very sweet.  She flew to the Atlanta area with the help of Gloria Liu (out of Fairhope, AL) and Noel Bouyette (Calhoun, GA).   Merica stayed in Georgia with a temporary foster for a while until another flight could be arranged to get her to the rescue, Eskie Rescuers United, in Maryland.   Pax is a young, frisky pup that was in a shelter in Asheville, NC. and also needed to get to the rescue in Maryland.  He had an adopter waiting for him as well.
Three pilots were found and flight was arranged since the weather was cooperating somewhat.   Gary Shepherd flew the first leg to Asheville with Merica.  When he got there, he found out that there was a PnP fundraiser with booths and co-founder of PnP, Debi Boise.    Gary met John Baute and picked up both Eskies and flew on to Roanoke but with some mishap.
Pax escaped his soft crate and ended up sitting tethered in the back with his pal, Merica.  The third leg was Jose Santana who flew them on to Baltimore to meet Heidi Ortmeyer, the Executive Director of ERU.
Both dogs were happy to have their feet on the ground and slept like babies in their new foster home, thanks to a group of wonderful PnP pilots!!

  1. I want to thank everyone again, for the great effort to get these two babies to the rescue.
It was a nailbiter to coordinate but turned out wonderful in the end.
