Got an e-mail reply from someone in CA claiming to want a kitten I posted on PetFinder. The way it was worded was very strange. When I pointed out that the kitten was in Michigan, I had a reply claiming they had a pet transport service that would pick the "pet" up at my door, and in addition they would write a cashier's check to me for $200. All I needed to do was provide my full name, address, and contact information. I initially replied that I would prefer to talk with them personally, so as to avoid being scammed, and gave out my phone number. When I received no answering phone call, I replied that something felt "funny" about this, and that there are thousands of kittens in their own backyard in LA that needed homes and were likely to be euthanized, and that this kitten was in no danger of that happening to her, so "thanks, but no thanks".
Again, no reply. Rescuers, please be careful with "Too good to be True" responses on PetFinder!
