I am writing from Animal Place, an animal sanctuary in Grass Valley, CA.
At the end of July 2013, 50,000 hens who have lived their entire lives in battery cages—never seeing the outside world, only ever knowing a dark and crowded shed—will be gassed and composted. We are in the planning stages of a potential rescue, hoping to find adoptive homes and give a second life to as many girls as possible.
By using plane transport, we hope to be able to rescue hundreds (if not thousands) of additional hens, sending them to sanctuaries across the country. So we are interested in commercial aviation.
Is anyone able to assist us in flying from northern California to the east coast?
