Information on Commercial Flights

Post by annecroft » Mon Jul 07, 2014 6:58 pm

Hi, I believe that I am trying to get in touch with Sarah Murphy Case (Northwest/Delta Airlines) to find out about what would be involved to transport a 50 lb coonhound from Orlando to Boston, there wouldn't be anyone traveling with him. His foster parents called and got a quote of $500 from Delta (?)--I think that one-way would not be so much. Any advice or assistance is very welcome. He is in Umatillo, Fl. and I can pick him up anywhere in New England though I live very close to Logan airport in Boston. He is pretty much ready to go anytime--think he just needs a health certificate that he can get in a day. I posted on the board July 4 but, haven't received any responses.
Thanks!

Hi Anne,
I'm not sure if Sarah is still registered. Her user name
was rylan1
In any event, an article she wrote is posted
http://www.pilotsnpaws.org/references/c ... transport/

Hopefully it will answer some if not all of your
questions.
I know it is costly to fly pets, so the price quote
doesn't surprise me. Some rescues may use
GoFundMe to raise funds. http://www.gofundme.com/

Have you looked for paid ground transports
for rescues? It would cost less.

Good luck,

Joanne
