Pilots Needed to Fly Dogs From Alabama Weekly

Post by alabamarescuerelay » Wed Jul 23, 2014 8:20 pm

Alabama Rescue Relay (ARR) is a 501(c) 3 all volunteer organization which is dedicated to the transportation of rescued Alabama dogs from shelters and rescues from all over the State of Alabama ARR coordinates the transport of the Alabama shelter dogs to out of state rescues. ARR has no paid staff or leased property. All vounteers use their own vehicles and pay for their own gas. ARR does have the use of 2 vans. ARR fund raises money only for gas to drive the vans.
ARR's out-of-state rescue locations are Tampa, West Palm Beach and Orlando, FL, Louisville, KY, Indianapolis, IN, Milwaukee, WI and Minneapolis, MN. As of the posting of this notice with Pilots N Paws, July 23, 2014, ARR has transported more than 2300 dogs and cats from Alabama since January 1, 2014.
Alabama is inundated with abandoned and abused dogs. More show up at our rescue partners every day. Most of out transports are driven to safety using our 2 vans, private cars. ARR has used pilots to fly some of our dogs to the out-of-state locations. PNP pilot, Jeff Bennett of the Florida Keys, has transported more than 2500 animals, many of those being Alabama dogs flown out of the Marianna Florida Airport. However, we have so many dogs here in Alabama we could use more pilots flying through Alabama to stop and take dogs to their final destinations. ARR has used airports in Bessmer, Jasper, Greenville and Enterprise, AL and can use Clanton and Shelby County airports.
Specifically, ARR is looking for pilots willing to fly our dogs directly to the above destinations or do the flights in legs from Alabama to these destinations. Since ARR moves dogs any day of the week, ARR will work with any pilot’s schedule or availability. ARR can get the dogs to about any airport in Alabama, or even airports around Atlanta, GA or near the AL/GA border, as well as airports located in the Florida Panhandle. Our purpose is to make a flight as easy as possible for any pilot volunteering.
If any pilot is interested in flying Alabama dogs to rescues, please contact ARR through this forum, on our Facebook page, Alabama Rescue Relay, [email protected], or me at [email protected] If you desire any information on the reputation of ARR, please contact PNP pilot Jeff Bennett.
