HW STATUS

Is it dangerous for a dog that is HW positive to fly?

We recommend that you check with your vet to see if it would be safe for a hw positive animal to fly. You also need to make sure that the receiving state you are sending to permits hw positive dogs who have not undergone any treatment to enter.   We know of HW positive dogs that have flown, but it's always the responsibility of the sending and receiving groups to have the determination made.  Pilots can also include their input.
