What is considered a "flight expense"

Are things other than fuel considered to be flight expenses, therefore tax deductible? Landing fees, insurance costs, hanger rental etc.

No. Only the expenses related to that specific flight--fuel, oil, and landing fee if applicable.

What about an hourly engine overhaul expense for those who operate their own aircraft? It seems that should be considered a direct variable expense of the flight.
