2 pups and Senior - San Bernardino to Petaluma CA or near by

Post by Dorothy Stone-Inouye » Thu Feb 28, 2013 12:44 am

Number of animals being transported: 3
Breeds, weight, age: Two 3-month old Australian Cattledog pups, "Gypsy and Sedona" , 15 and 17 lbs; one Chihuahua mix senior "Gracie" about 15 lbs very friendly
* WE may have a 34 lb adult female cattledog as well, depending on space and if we can get her and the three in the same place for meeting a plane.
She is in Huntington Beach currently
Health Condition: good
Heart worm Status: neg
Vaccinations: up to date
Health Certificate: n/a
Spay/Neutered: puppies not yet, senior yes
Special needs: Pups are VERY active would do best in a crate
Name of Sending Rescue/Parties Redwood Coast Cattledog Rescue
Name of Receiving Rescue/Parties: Redwood Coast Cattledog Rescue
Contact information (publicly viewable on forum): Dorothy 707-338-9319 or email [email protected]
Are you a 501c3: Almost!
Additional Info/situation: Gypsy and Sedona were recently rescued from a backyard breeder who could not keep them any longer. We were trying to get the others but not sure if that will happen now. They have foster homes waiting in northern California. Gracie we rescued with her two cattledog buddies from San Bernardino City shelter but they all came down with distemper and mycoplasma pnuemonia. Sadly Gracie's buddies did not survive. Gracie however did - probably because she had more vaccines in her lifetime - and is now pronounced well and free to go on to her foster home. All are boarding at the vet as we want to minimize chance of getting sick for the pups and for Gracie too.

We've had them in so cal for a couple of weeks and looks like the homes for them are up north so we need to get them moved. Could not make the LA connection to a private transport and also could not piggy back with the last flight, so posting in case anyone might be making this long flight.

Thank you very much!

We will be at the Fullerton airport on Friday, planing to return to O41 early Sunday.
We would love to help. My airplane will accommodate 2 small crates.

Thanks, Aldo

Thank you Aldo for your offer. We were unable to get a ride for them to Fullerton or find an overnight foster so they could fly on a Sunday. I wish we had been able to figure something.

I might be able to help in the transport to the airport, for future reference.

Ohh that might work as we have an offer of a driver from LA north. Now just need to get them from San Bernardino to LA Sunday morning - providing weather is good. Anyone?

The driver is in Santa Clarita and pups are in San Bernardino, CA.

I have worked out permission to get the pups out on a Sunday (Vet office is closed but will make special arrangements for this so they don't miss another opportunity).
If there is someone who could fly them from San Bernardino to wherever is easiest and near Santa Clarita that would be very good. The driver can drive north to Taft or Harris Ranch to meet up with Sue. Might work?

Well looks like this is not coming together.

We have a volunteer possibly in Livermore that might help. We might be able to have them stay temporarily at Patterson also. The pups have only their second shots as of yesterday and it's risky putting them on a ground transport with dogs fresh out of a shelter. We lost two to distemper last month ad not ready to take chances.
Thank you if anyone can help, Dorothy

Try Bill Branch. He is in the Riverside area, maybe he could fly them to meet the Livermore pilot, or to the driver in Santa Clarita.

We have a relay of ground transport set up but cannot fill the gap between San Bernardino and Los Angeles area. A new request was posted for San Bernardino to Santa Paula where the first leg of the ground transport could meet.

http://www.pilotsnpaws.org/forum/viewto ... 665#p72665

From there the first leg goes to Los Banos, meets up with another volunteer driver who will drive to Patterson (yet to be confirmed). In Patterson we have a safe place for them to stay until further transportation can be found.

Urgently need San Bernardino to LA area - we posted for Santa Paula as it's easy to get in and out and has the cheapest fuel around.
I'm at meet n greets with dogs today Thank you :)
