How long is Buster safe? A few ideas:

I'm based in Houston, so Houston-Tyler-Pineville LA-Houston would be a long day for me. Also, assuming I departed at 9 a.m., I likely wouldn't make Pineville until maybe 2:30. Almost certainly necessitates an overnight stay for Buster en route.

I'm obligated tomorrow, and Friday and Saturday look to be unfavorable weather-wise here in Houston. It looks as if I have a Houston-Dallas transport on Tuesday, 12/24, which currently looks good. I could possibly detour to Tyler on the return and pick up Buster and fly back to Houston. Complicating factor: I have five rescue dogs of my own, and I just can't foster overnight. My vet is kind enough to board some of my flying rescue dogs overnight, but I'd have to see if they'd be O.K. keeping him over Christmas. We'd also have to hope that the weather and pilot schedules cooperate on 12/26 to fly him out.

If time permits, we could try this just after Christmas. I could fly Houston-Tyler-Houston with Buster, board him at my vet overnight, and fly the next day to Lafayette or New Orleans. All dependent upon weather and the other legs.

Since this is an interstate transport, he will require a valid health certificate and record of vaccinations.

Best,
Wade

Buster is safe, just pending transport to me. I will let the rescue group know of the options. He is in foster care until he comes to FL

Wade, et al:

WX permitting, I could meet you Dec. 26 or early 27 to transfer Buster.
I can get him as far as Mobil area.
Fairhope or Foley, AL.
If I get him on the 26th, I could foster for one night.
I'll be unavailable Dec. 28-Jan-3.

Let's work on starting the transport on 12/26. I pick up Buster, board him at my vet overnight, and make a 9 a.m. departure on 12/27 to meet Mark. Could that work?

Hey, all,

I have a request to fly a collie to the Dallas area on 12/26 or 12/27. I could easily pick up Buster on the return for overnight boarding at my vet and then fly him to Louisiana the next day. It would be great to combine these, so I'm flying dogs in both directions and in one flight. Obviously, it depends on the final leg.

Heydon: The phone # for Jeff (skyking) is a few posts above, and it looked as if he had offered to fly the final leg. You might want to contact him and see if the offer still stands.

I'll be a little hard to reach on Christmas Eve; I'm flying a transport that day.

Best,
Wade
