(Contact information publicly viewable on forum):
Name and contact for person in charge of transport: Courtney Wissig (402)968-1629 [email protected]
Name and contact for Sending rescue/parties: Nebraska Border Collie Rescue, see above for contact info
Name and contact for Receiving rescue/parties: Linda Schultz [email protected], forever home
Are you a 501c3: yes
Date ready for transport: TBD
Additional info/situation: These two girls are getting adopted! We have a wonderful woman in Pennsylvania that has adopted 4 dogs from us, some of which she has completely turned around from pretty horrific situations, so we are happy to send her more when she is ready to adopt again! In the past one of our volunteers has made the whole trip but she is getting older and not feeling up to it. Linda is going to be making a bit of a drive herself to pick the girls up in Elyria. If it would help, we do have a volunteer that could drive these girls to Des Moines and MAY have someone in Des Moines that could even drive them a little further. One girl is being fostered a few hours away from Omaha in Manhattan, KS, so we are waiting to have transport solidified before bringing her to Omaha and making temporary arrangements. The soonest she could be here will probably be next weekend, so we are definitely not in a hurry! I just want to see what might be available so we don't have to rush last minute.

Thank you guys for all you do!

If the transport is over the weekend I could probably do either Omaha -> Iowa City (KIOW/KCID) or Iowa City -> somewhere around Chicago (Gary, IN?)

It won't be this weekend but we were planning on doing it on a weekend. We could possibly drive them to Iowa City!

When ready to go, I can do either KIOW --> 82IS (Huntley, IL) or 82IS --> KASW (Warsaw, IN).
Weekends are good.

I don't think this weekend is going to work, not sure how we will be getting them to Ohio. I can ask the adopter if she would be able to drive a little further. However I think our driver that would be able to get them to Des Moines already has a couple transports this week. I will keep everyone posted and sorry that this is taking so long to figure out! I've never tried to get a dog so far before.

Alright! Sorry if it seemed like I disappeared, trying to get some things figured out. The adopter in PA is going to try and find a transport group on her end that might be able to pick the girls up in Warsaw, IN. She will look for a few days but if nothing turns up she is going to just drive down herself. I will update as soon as I know!

Do weekends still work?

Thanks so much!!

I'm still good for weekends, maybe a weekday depending when.
4/26 I may have another flight but not confirmed yet.

I'm based at DuPage (in the western suburbs of Chicago) and could possibly help with this transport. I could cover either the leg into or out of the Chicago area. Over the next couple of weeks, I'm only available on Sunday, April 20 but thought I'd post on this page in case the transport happens on that day (weather permitting). My comfortable range would be probably Iowa City (to the west) back to the Chicago area, or the Chicago area to Warsaw or maybe a little farther east like Fort Wayne, IN.

Let me know if I can help,

Mike
