Alright, I just talked with the adopter. If she can't find anyone to get to Fort Wayne by the 20th, she will make the drive herself, so we can start planning for the 20th.

Would another pilot be able to get them from Iowa City to Chicago on the 20th so Mike could get them to Fort Wayne? Now that I know it's a possibility I've sent out an email to some drivers to see if we can't get them to Iowa City.

Thanks so much for being patient, trying to coordinate with the adopter has been a challenge, but hopefully we can get this done!

Just wanted to see if this transport is still happening? When I volunteered for this Sunday, April 20, I completely forgot that it's Easter but I can still help with this on Sunday if it's a go (must be VFR weather though which the weather has flip-flopped a couple of times but now looks like it may be VFR, at least in the Chicago area). I'd also prefer to split this flight with someone if there's another pilot available to either fly west (to KIOW) or east (to KASW) with a rendezvous point in the Chicago area.

Let me know,

Mike

Hey Mike,

I've been waiting for an update on this one, been a week now.
I can make the run out to KIOW, provided as you mention wx cooperates. Looks blustery from SSW; a bad direction for 82IS, and chance of rain and MVFR. So we'll see.

Hi John,

Thanks for the message. Unfortunately it looks like the chance of rain is back in the forecast (as you said). By the way, I'm more than willing to rendevzous at 82IS assuming the crosswind isn't too bad. Hopefully we can pull this transport off.

Well I thought I posted last night but it didn't go through. Because it's Easter, our driver for Omaha to IA City can't do the 20th. Also, since I hadn't heard from anyone for several days, I told the adopter that it probably wasn't happening this weekend, so she might have made other plans.

I'll watch the thread too, available most weekends.
Mike, we are re-locating our plane to Lake in the Hills (3CK) at the end of the month so might make the hand-off there.
Only 4mi north; you can see it from the pattern at 82IS

Sorry that it took me so long to respond. We have honestly never tried to coordinate a transport for this far so it's all been very confusing. The adopter found a ground transport service that she thought might be helpful but we put in a request for transport almost 2 weeks ago and haven't heard anything since, other than an email to say they'd received our request. So, we are going to try to get them just to Indiana again and she will drive there.

ANYWAYS, we are still needing transport for these girls. I'm really sorry that I haven't been very good about keeping everyone informed, I have been doing my best to try and stay in the loop with this but sometimes am not updated.

The earliest I could potentially help with this would be the weekend of 5/10-5/11. I'll need to check on plane availability as one of the two planes I have access to was down for maintenance. Hopefully this transport happens sooner than that but, if not, I could possibly help.

I have a flight committed for this weekend but might can help 5/10-11 (warning: 5/11 is Mothers Day).
We'll see what develops.
