Sounds good. I should know more about a specific day later today. So far I'm still uncommitted for either Friday or Saturday. Sunday is suggested by the other rescue, but not confirmed.

Weather permitting, I can fly on Sunday. Meeting at XSA? Any idea where in NJ exchange would be?

I can meet you at any NJ airport you want. I like 47N (Central Jersey, Manville), because they have the cheapest fuel I know of, but my aircraft has longer legs than yours, so It's your preference.

I was stuck in a seminar all day yesterday. Sorry I could not participate in this exchange. THANK YOU all for trying to get this together. Are we looking at Sunday, now? I'll need to let the fosters know so they can get the dogs to Smithfield. Thanks, Rick --- you are, as always, a true gem!!!

Joy - appreciate the kind words but this is a collaborative effort and in the scheme of things our contribution is small potatoes compared to Ruf Creek's commitment to rescue / rehabilitate and place so many of these dogs.

So I think Sunday is the day if Brian and Allen are okay with the extended forecasts along their section of the route.

If we can, I'd (ideally) like to get a sunrise start, arriving KJNX to pick up the dogs 7:30AM. If we're back in the air by 8 that would put us into KXSA to meet Allen +- 9:30AM. Is that too early for everyone?

Also - what can you tell us about the dogs? Have they been fostered together? Can all 3 be tethered together, or would it be best to put the smaller guys in crates?

Let us know and thanks -

Ok, I'll call the fosters and alert them to be at KJNX by 7:30, not 8:30 as I already told them. My bad.

The 2 smaller ones have been fostered together so they can be tethered. The larger one (Lila) is dog friendly, but it might be better to put her in a crate. We're sending harnesses with all of them.

Thanks.

I will have three crates in my plane. Please answer the following for me so I can arrange my other rescue for this weekend:
1) At which New Jersey airport will I be picking up?
2) Are we all agreed on Sunday?
3) What time?
4) Who are the receiving parties, so I can communicate with them about receiving at KEEN?

Brian, I can only answer the last question.

Receiving party is Lisa Borst - Rosemont Rescue Network.

Her email address is [email protected] and her phone numbers are:

home - 603-256-8261
cell - 802-579-8916

Thanks,

At this point the weather looks good for Sunday, so I'm in.

I'm okay with 47N for a transfer location in NJ unless you want to come farther south in NJ. My flight time from KXSA to 47N will be around 1:45 so it will depend upon pickup time at XSA.

Rick, are you putting together a flight log?

To recap:

1) It sounds fosters / pilots are all a go for Sunday
2) I am putting together a flight log I will send out to everyone this evening
3) As of now we are looking at an early morning flight with pickup at KJNX 7:30AM
4) If I am airborne out of JNX by 8 its 1.5 hrs up to XSA in the 172 (103 kts) w/o winds. Note: it does not take much of a headwind to impact my flight time.
5) If Allen is airborne out of XSA +- 10:15 he could arrive 47N +- 12 Noon
6) If Brian is airborne out of 47N at 1 he could arrive Keene +- 2:30

We'll fine tune these times on Saturday but let's use the above as a starting point.
