My husband Chris is a professional pilot and we are available for transports during his off time (8 days on, 7 days off). We are located in Plymouth, MA and do not own a plane but have access to renting one as needed from Plymouth. These are typically smaller 2 and 4-seat planes, but can carry us and one or two small to medium sized animals or one large one. (He can be more specific - but I'm the more bulletin board savvy one
). Obviously renting a plane can be costly (approx. $75.00/hr.), but we're available to do the ones we can (i.e, emergency) - and can do even more if an adopter or rescue is willing to contribute. We also have 2+ friends in the MA area that are private pilots and who may also be able to assist on transports as well.Chris can fly both VFR and IFR, and is available weekdays and weekends depending on his work schedule.
I am a Board Member of a 501(c)3 national non-profit Coast to Coast Dachshund Rescue (CCDR) and we have two adopted dachshunds of our own (one who came out on a 16-leg volunteer ground transport). I am also CCDR's Transport Coordinator, so I am well versed in coordinating ground transports, which can help in coordinating air transports.
