"SAVING ROMMEL"

Post by admin » Sat Aug 16, 2008 2:41 pm

Rommel began his life in VA. We don't know much about him other then his owners health deteriorated and Rommel was placed in a shelter. The shelter took good care of him, but like all Dobes, he needed his own family. Through the help of Doberman Assistance Network and the Pilots-N-Paws program, Rommel was flown to Ohio to Northcoast Doberman Rescue where he is waiting for his forever home. He is a true Doberman with his loving, kind, and intelligent nature. Hopefully, he will find his new family soon.

A very caring Pilots-N-Paws member, Patrick, went above the call to get Rommel to safety by actually driving to pick him up from the shelter, taking him home and fostering him until a clear flying weather day arrived. Ironically, that day arrived on Easter!

Rommel is facing surgery soon to correct a severe hip fracture that healed incorrectly. It is due to the help of Pilots-N-Paws that Rommel has caring folks getting him the healthcare he needs and I hope that he will come through his surgery very well and find his forever home.

It is difficult for animals with medical needs like Rommel to travel via ground transport. Hours on the road and changing vehicles and drivers every hour certainly would have been painful. Our group will always be grateful to Pilots-N-Paws for giving this deserving boy a second chance!!
