Dorie's journey continues...
Pilot JP Held and Dorie on approach to KAEG
Dorie waits as JP unloads her luggage, consisting mostly of a bed and her collection of toys and treats donated by fosters, drivers and pilots.
After a long day of trying to herd uncooperative firewood and pine cones at foster Dave's New Mexico home, Dorie rests up for the next morning's flight. It will be her final leg to Tucson, provided by pilot Lynn.
Great teamwork made Dorie's journey successful. Many thanks to Belgian Sheepdog volunteers Su, Betty, Di and Barb; to transportation volunteers Cheryl, Janet, Cathie and Wanda; to All Ears Basset Rescue's Chris and Dave; and to pilots Sam Taylor (KGPH), Terry Tevis (KOJC), JP Held (KSAF) and Lynn Thomas (KRYN). Thanks also to Sam and his wife Wanda for temporarily fostering Dorie, and to all the pilots who offered to fly legs if needed. You are all angels in my eyes.
