We are requesting any help in getting DOOLEY, a 1.5 year, old Dal/Pointer/Cattle Dog-mix. Little Dooley was on the table to be euthanized last Thursday (unbeknownst to us when we picked up Skittles from that same shelter), but he licked/kissed the person's face and she couldn't bring herself to do it. This is why he is still alive today. Dooley is currently in Americus, GA 31719 at the Sumter County Humane Society and will be neutered this Thursday 3/19 and he must be on his way immediately unless a temp foster or short-term boarding facility can be found until transport is available. He has a foster waiting for him in Tampa, FL 33601(X39,KVDF are nearest me). If you can help either with a flight to any airport along the way (we have potential ground transporters in FL that could assist) or hold him till we can get a ground transport arranged please contact [email protected] who will coordinate the transport.

We know this is way out of everyone's way, but there must be a reason he is still alive and he deserves a second chance. Please let us know ASAP or if you know ANYONE else who could get him right away.

I can fly the Florida leg of this transport. If a pilot can get this dog to Perry-Foley (40J), I can get him to KVDF.

We are still looking hard for help on the northern end of our route.
Are there any pilots or rescue volunteers that can get Dooley from Americus, GA to Perry, FL to meet Jeff???

This transport is scheduled for Sunday the 22 of Mar. The rescue group will drive the dog to Perry and I will deliver him to KVDF. Times for meet up will be determined closer to the transport date.

I will be picking up a second pup in Perry, so I need to know Dooley's height, length and weight to decide what size crate he will need. I need to use the smallest crate that he will be comfortable in for an hour since the other pup is a bit larger.
It looks like I will be at Perry (40J) airport at 10am for pick up.
I will need the contact info for the people dropping off and picking up Dooley.

Remember - DO NOT FEED the pup before this flight!! A few snacks and water are ok, but NO MEALS!!!

I have passed this on to Susan since I don't have the other contacts info. From what you've posted it looks like you'll be into Tampa (KVDF) around 11 am. I'm hoping to be there, but Susan may have another transporter/foster waiting too. I will double check our plans & get them to you ASAP. I'm happy to hear you've been able to combine transports.

As of noon Sat the weather looks ok for this trip. The winds will be blowing a bit so it will be very important not to feed Dooley before his flight as it will probably be a little bumpy.
