Midnight Express: Jacksonville, IL to La Crosse, WI

Last night was so awesome! Patty delivered to us two dogs, Tony and Mr. Hope, who are both so wonderful. She and Flo did a great job nursing them to good health. It was such a good feeling being able to bring them to the next step on the road to their new lives. Roseanne and Michele are so clearly going to give them the love and great care they deserve until they find their new families!

The METAR for Jacksonville was at minimums, I wasn’t sure we were going to be able to get down and called Patty with our alternate plan. We took off into solid white IMC and never saw ground nor sky en route. Preparing for the approach we got the Jacksonville ASOS and it reported a hair above mins and we felt relieved. We flew the approach and broke out a couple hundred feet above the reported ceiling. The weather gods smiled on us.

I walked into the house at about 4 a.m.! We were giddy with delight on the way home. Best night I have had in a long time!
