Number of animals being transported: two
Breeds, weight, age: 2 older westies; Bailey, female 9 yo, 16 lbs; Cody, male, 9 yo, 15 lbs
Health Condition: very good
Heartworm Status: negative
Vaccinations: up-to-date
Health Certificate: yes
Spay/Neutered: yes, both
Special needs: Pilots will need to provide own crates if desired
Name of Sending & Receiving Rescue/Parties: from foster in Winder, GA; to Sunshine State Westie Rescue in Sarasota/Bradenton, FL (http://www.sunshinestatewestierescue.org)
Contact information (publicly viewable on forum): Transport Coordinator, Doris Godwin, [email protected]
Are you a 501c3: yes
Additional Info/situation:
The two sweet dogs were dumped by their breeder on eBay when they became too old to breed any more. Fortunately, a local westie foster in GA saw the post and quickly stepped in to save them. She has been fostering them, had them spayed and neutered, and found a rescue in FL to take them. I offered to try to find pilots to fly them on this journey.
Some airports near sending foster: Barrow County (WDR), Gwinnett County/Briscoe Field (LZU), also D73, 19A, AHN, GVL.
Some airports near receiving rescue: Sarasota/Bradenton Int'l (SRQ), Venice Muni (VNC), Albert Whitted (SPG), St Petersburg/Clearwater Int'l (PIE), and Peter OKnight (TPF).
Multiple pilots will likely be needed for this trip. It is approx. 400 nm between sending and receiving locations. Weekday or weekend travel are fine.
If you can help fly these 2 retired breeder dogs, please respond with your contact info (phone and email), preferred sending and receiving airports, and available day(s).
Thank you.
Doris
