Hey guys...good for you. Thanks for joining the ranks of volunteer PnP pilots.
Since this flight is the first for both of you, here is some advise. I've done 34 flights over the last 2 years...my recommendation is for one of you to take the lead (pilot flying first leg perhaps?). Get the following information from the person who posted the rescue request.
1. Name of the person dropping off dogs at the pickup airport and their cell phone number. Make sure they know exactly which airport. I've found it helps them to give them a street address to plug into GPS. If there are multiple FBOs, tell them which one you'll be at.
2. Name of the person taking custody of the animals at the destination airport and their cell number. Same as item 1. Give them an address and FBO name if there are multiple.
3. Contact info. of all pilots involved including aircraft N number, type and description. Share this info with the sending and receiving rescues as well as other pilots.
4. Lay out an itinerary and confirm with all involved that they agree.
Good luck. I hope your first flight goes well.
