Additional Info/situation: I have arranged ground transport to Madison WI, and a flight from Madison to Sioux Falls (with back up in place). I am looking for ground transport, but would love a flight from Sioux Falls or points west to Shelby or Kalispell MT (where the rescue will pick her up). This will dramatically shorten her time on the road and hopefully fill some gaps where I'm having trouble finding drivers : (. Here is a link to her over-the-road transport: https://www.facebook.com/#!/notes/shimi ... 1923515108 Thank you.

First, going through Butte is out of the way. After you leave Bozeman, take exit 274 onto US Hwy 287 north through Townsend to Helena.

Next, keep trying to fill you ground legs.

Now, if the weather is good on Monday 11/12, I could fly Kristy from Bozeman to Shelby. I'll watch the forecast and keep you posted.

Thank you, Jerry! I took your advise and changed that leg (those are the kinds of hints I need for this transport : ) ).

I'm still pushing the land route -- actually got several legs filled today in the areas I'm concerned about..if I could somehow get the SD legs filled in I would be relieved! : ). Have to say the people out there in rescue have been amazingly helpful, sharing and crossposting like mad!!!

Thank you for your help Jerry...I have everything crossed that that weekend is going to be beautiful sunny weather with nary a cloud in the sky!!!

Hi Shimiah,

I just realized something that will cause a problem with my flight. We will go to Mountain Standard Time this coming Sunday which will make sunset be one hour earlier than we are now experiencing. Your current planned schedule has the departure from Bozeman at 2:30PM. My flight from BZN to SBX then to S69 will require almost 3 hours not including time on the ground at Shelby. In Lincoln (S69) on 11/12 sunset will be at 4:57 PM and Civil Twilight (darkness) will be at 5:29 PM. There will also be a new moon, i.e., no moonlight. I am not night flying current and therefore do not want to arrive back at Lincoln after dark. If the weather turns out that I can do this flight, is there a way to get it started at least one hour earlier?

Thank you, Jerry...I do appreciate your offer of assistance! The road transport was nearly filled when we FINALLY found a commercial flight for her (we had tried this in the first place, but because she is a lab/pit mix, we were running into airlines that would not fly her because she's a pit, airports she could not land in because she's a pit...we ran into cold weather rules, end of flight paths for season). THat was when we moved to PLan B...over the road. But 4 1/2 days is a LONG time on the road when you're being handed off to a new stranger every couple of hours...so we are delighted to be able to cut the time down to a 14 hour flight. Fewer hand-offs means fewer opportunities for an escape, theft, etc. : )
