50 lb spayed female wire haired mixed breed needs transport from Humane Society of Grand Bahama to new home in Washington DC. Or from FPO to FLL, then we can get her on Delta to DC...

Any Thurs to Sun for arrival in DC

Any day ok if only from FPO to FLL

Dog is current with vaccinations and will come with necessary paperwork including for U.S. customs clearance (no quarantine required on U.S. side for dogs coming from Bahamas, Bahamas is a rabies free country).

NOTE Bahamas Customs and Immigration does charge OT fees on weekends which we would pay, also we would pay any landing fees, etc.

First time posting, hope I did it right! Thanks for any consideration.

Anybody willing to team up for this one? Willing to split the cost of the flight, have passport and experience flying to Freeport. I’m a renter having a small issue with getting access to an aircraft for international flight. We can clear at either PBI or FXE and I will provide ground transport to FLL or connecting flight to Washington D.C. Let me know.

Thanks Jeff for responding, and sorry all but I did not see the part about zip codes until after I posted this. The Bahamas does not utilize zip codes so that part will be hard for me, is that ok? I did not have the adopters info with me at home to post the DC zip code, will make sure in future I have that.

I will never be picky about dates, even if a transport date does not work for the adopter I can find somewhere for the dog to stay and someone to pick them up from the pilot. I just need them out of here and at least partly on their way!

Very new to this but wondering how to best ask for help with longer trips - I realize 4 hours is about max, so if a dog needs to go further than that, what must I do to maximize that possibility?

Hi and welcome to PNP. It is always more difficult asking for longer flights. Sometimes pilots will work together and set up connecting legs of transport. Other times ground transporters can be contacted to help. Commercial aviation is always the best way for longer distances but I realize that all of us in rescue are low on funds. We do have a Commercial Aviation section on this forum board and I would suggest looking at that to see if any captains, flight attendents or employees would be available to help you.

If you could even get the animals stateside commercially then my guess would be the pilots in Florida could start a let north for you. It is also possible to do this in stages and find temp fosters along the way to overnight and wait for the next pilot. I wish there was an easy way but networking, emailing, asking and coordinating is the only way to get this done. Hopefully, you can keep working at this and help these animals.....
