UPDATE: THANKS TO THE THREE PILOT ANGELS WHO HELPED BILLY GET FROM NASHVILLE TO WEST TRENTON. Pilots N Paws along with Mid-Atlantic Basset Hound Rescue will be on the news tonight June 16, 2009 at 6pm - Channel 10 out of Allentown PA, recording the wonderful efforts of rescue and pilots!!! WE have two pilots handling the transport from Ashland KY to PA/NJ. Just need someone who can pick up the basset in Nashville and meet up with John Lee in Ashland. PLEASE CALL IF YOU CAN HELP TRANSPORT - I will not have access to e-mail this weekend since our rescue is having a fundraising event in NY State.

Small basset 6-8 years old, approximately 35 pounds, very sweet and mellow, needs transport from Nashville, TN to Allentown, PA.
Our rescue is FLEXIBLE on where the basset comes in - can be Doylestown, PA, Allentown, PA, Readington, NJ.....
Billy was dumped by his owner at a kill shelter in TN, pulled by a local rescue who contacted the basset rescue who handles that area. The basset rescue contacted our group for help - we have a foster home waiting for him, just need to get him up here.

The local rescue in Nashville would like to move him this weekend - June 13th or June 14th - both days promise to be good weather in the PA/NJ area.

We are attempting to do this transport on Sunday, June 14th.

Tranport completed 6/14. 3 Pilot relay.

Mike Kriz(Desmoss)from Cincinnati was able to fly down to Nashvile on his way to Chattanooga, TN for Lab to be trasnported to Detroit(Thanks again Mike). I picked up Basset from Ashland, KY and flew to Somerset, PA. Paul from NJ met me in PA to fly last leg to NJ to meet Suzanne.(This was Paul's first rescue flight)

Was pleasure meetng both Mike and Paul. Both great pilots. Hope to see you guys again soon.

p.s. I am encouraging Paul to try out Billy as a foster since his daughter fell in love with our basset boy during the flight. How could you not? He is an extraordinary hound, very gentle, active yet mellow, and adores attention.
