When her elderly owner passed away, Foxy Roxy was surrendered to the Calcasieu Parish A.C., Lake Charles, LA, by the caregiver of her deceased owner. Apparently, the lady had no surviving relatives or none that would take this beloved pet. Fortunately, rescuers stepped up and made her situation known to the Birmingham group who then agreed to take her. A foster in Lake Charles pulled the dog from the shelter, then took her to the vet for some antitiotics for a slight cold and for a refill on her daily thyroid medication. She is doing so well that she is now ready for her trip to Alabama. We would like to fly her out of New Iberia (ARA) and route her thru Jackson/Meridian/Tuscaloosa and on to Bessemer (EKY).
We are aiming for next weekend--Feb. 2/3, if possible, and weather permits. Foxy Roxy will need a medium crate which needs to be furnished by the pilot(s). Foxy Roxy is a beautiful old lady with whom you will fall in love once you meet her!! But, we must warn you, she snores!!
