Hey Marty,

I am the pilot that will be doing the leg from the Jacksonville, FL area up to Raleigh, NC. JNX is fine with me. My leg regardless is still running about 3.5 hours. I usually file an IFR flight plan so flying into towered airports helps with clearances and such but I agree, it would make for a quicker transfer. Gas is much cheaper there too. :)

At any rate. I have not heard from the pilot doing the first leg yet to know what time he'll be departing South FL. If he leaves around 8am and flies nonstop to Craig in Jacksonville, he'll land around 11am. If I depart at 11:30, I'll get to JNX around 3pm. If you are willing to fly a little further south, I can get there earlier than that.

As of now, the transport is scheduled for Saturday (all legs) but we're missing just one pilot at this point. Thanks for the consideration!

You probably have a faster plane than mine (Cherokee 140), so going farther south would probably add time overall. With ground time, I would get to JGG about 5:00 unless the headwind is stronger than indicated. The latest forecast lifted the T-Storm prediction for Saturday.

I thought RDU to JGG was the only missing leg. Do we also need a pilot to get him from JGG to PA? Man, this dog is in for a long day! :(

I have a Cherokee 180. Cruises at about 110 knots.

You are correct. The only missing leg is the leg you are volunteering for. Like I mentioned earlier, JNX is fine by me.

I can get 100 knot ground speed out of the old girl if I flog her. :o

Ok, let's set it as tentative. I'll check with my wife to make sure she doesn't have something on the burner that would derail this. :D

Who's the pilot at JGG?

Not sure who is doing the leg from JGG. Pam contacted several pilots in the area directly. She should be on here tonight and be able to tell us so that we can all coordinate. I emailed her directly about your interest so I am sure she will be thrilled!!!

Ok, We'll get it worked out when we know who all the players are.

I see you're in Bluffton. I have a timeshare on HHI, but rarely use it anymore. I usually fly just east of HHI on my way to FL. STARY intersection gets me the shortest route without entering warning areas.

John - Thanks so very much for the offer. I think we now have a firm plan. I'll let you know if it falls apart and I need to fill a hole. The bassets appreciate your offer.
