Shelter to rescue - Treeing Walker Coonhound

Post by jdunham » Wed Jun 05, 2013 8:41 pm

Number of animals being transported: 1
Breeds, weight, age: Treeing Walker Coonhound, 50 lbs., adult female
Health Condition: Appears to be good
Heart worm Status: Unknown
Vaccinations: Will be done before move
Health Certificate: Intrastate, not needed
Spay/Neutered: Unknown
Special needs: None
Name of Sending Rescue/Parties: San Angelo shelter
Name of Receiving Rescue/Parties: San Antonio SPCA
Contact information (publicly viewable on forum): Jerry Dunham, [email protected], 512-961-8398
Are you a 501c3: Yes
Additional Info/situation:

I don't know a lot about this TWC bitch yet. She seems to have a good temperament, and is healthy. This shelter tends to not keep hounds longer than necessary, so we need to be figuring out how to get her to safety in San Antonio.

I think we can move her whenever a flight works. The shelter requires spay before allowing her to leave the county, so I'm trying to determine her status. I'll update as I find out more.

She is spayed and has full vaccinations. She is ready to go whenever we can get her a ride.

Thanks!

Jerry ... if weather cooperates (which it hasn't been doing lately), I can probably do this transport on Sunday. The airplane is now back from the avionics shop and is ready to be flying once again.

This is wonderful! For a bit there I thought we had someone to do a ground transport, but she had to cancel. Your timing is great!

Please let me know what your timing would be on Sunday so I can line people up for both ends, and let's stay in touch regarding developing weather.

Thanks!

This was completed on Sunday, and ended up with 3 dogs on the transport, two in one direction and 1 in the other. I hate to see empty airplanes in the air, so this was a wonderful outcome. Many thanks to Denise for dodging the clouds to make this happen.
