That's awesome re: the ice cream! I'll definitely have to dip into that. I think I will also be filing IFR (tail number 12657) because my instructor will be joining me also. I'm planning on bringing a carrier with me but let me know if I don't need to. See you at 2:00 Saturday afternoon at KOXI!

Becky - I think Campbell airport in Grayslake is probably closest to you? If so, I can fly into Campbell. Let me know. I'm guessing the flight time from KOXI to Campbell is between an hour and an 1:15 depending upon the route we take. I will text u when we're leaving KOXI (probably around 2:15-2:30 so should be to Campbell by 4).

Ok, I will plan on bringing my own carrier just in case. You raised a question in my mind when you said 1400 local. Starke county is actually on Central time as opposed to Eastern time (one of a handful of counties in NW Indiana that are on Central time). So were you thinking 14:00 Eastern or Central? Just want to make sure we're both shooting for the same time. If Eastern time, I may be a little bit later than 2 because my plane rental time starts at 1 Eastern and it's about an hour from KDPA to KOXI (maybe a little less) So with taxi time, I might be looking at a 2:15 arrival to KOXI. If you're thinking 2:00 Central time then that won't be a problem at all. Let me know.

Becky -if the times are Eastern time then I should arrive at Campbell an hour earlier than I indicated before (probably around 3:30). I'll text you when we're leaving KOXI.

I didn't know that Indiana was a bifurcated (I never had a chance to use that word before) time zone state. I was assuming that it was in the Eastern Time Zone. If that's true, then I'll be there at 1300 local. Which is fine, because they have a freezer full of ice cream, and I'm sure I can do some hanger flying with someone.

Yes, it is a bifurcated (I've used the word before but never in this context :)) state. We'll do our best to get there by 1400 Eastern time. See you then and save some ice cream for us.
