Additional Info/situation:
Zane was rescued at the eleventh hour from a high-kill shelter by Dogtown Ranch, Elgin, TX. He is being fostered at a private kennel until Friday (Nov. 1), when he will be then be moved to New Iberia, provided we can't get this trip together by Friday.
Weather In S. Louisiana looks good for Wednesday, Friday thru Sunday. Thursday is a bad, high-wind day.

Pilot will need a medium crate for Zane. The only airport I could find near Elgin is Austin but If there is a smaller one on the East side of Austin, that would be great. Just let us know your preference. If we need to break this up into 2 legs (Thibodaux or New Iberia to Houston and Houston to Austin) that is fine with us, provided we can get the trip done In one day. I have no foster to overnight Zane in the Houston area.

Zane is not coughing or showing any ill effects from his HW status, so he should be fine to fly.

SUNDAY, 11/03/13: Zane is now at his new "digs" in Elgin, TX, and a death-row cat named Christopher is now with his new adoptive mommy in Spring Branch (Houston). Thanks to Steve Glenn, based at Ellington Field, for doing the entire trip today. His plane was back in the hangar "taking a nap" by 2 p.m. It helped that Daylight Savings Time ended and we had that extra hour! Thanks, Steve.

I could do the Houston (area) to Austin leg with enough prior notice.

Or if someone can get him to Georgetown (KGTU), Austin Executive (KEDC), or Taylor (T74)...I would be happy to do the ground transport to Elgin since I go there most weekends.

That would be great!! Hopefully, one of the Houston pilots will chime in here. Can you pick him up in Houston and also drive him on to Elgin the same day if we start early enough? Not sure if you could do both or just one or the other.

I will be flying from Houma Louisiana to south Texas on November 7, late in the afternoon and could stop by New Iberia on the way. Drop off in Houston would be no problem.

Yes. It's just over an hour from Houston area to my home airport. Then under an hour drive to Elgin from there. I can fly most Sundays and most tues/thurs evenings.

Thanks, Drpetar.

Chopperham, I appreciate the offer but am hoping he will be moved by Nov. 7. Also, if you are leaving late in the afternoon, that would mean he would have to be overnighted in Houston and I don't have anyone to do that as of yet.

I messaged Chopperham about meeting him in Houston. I have no problem flying late to get him and bring him to Elgin/Austin.

If you can move the dog sooner, great. Just let me know if I'll be needed.

Did this one ever get sorted? My son & I could do Houma to Houston tomorrow (Sunday).

I don't have a crate, but often do small dogs like this without a crate.
