Health Condition: We think health is good, but she was treated for ehrlichia back on August.
Heart worm Status: HW neg.
Vaccinations: Dapp/lepto/bordatella/rabies current
Health Certificate: Not needed. Intrastate.
Spay/Neutered: Spayed
Special needs: None
Name of Sending Rescue/Parties: All Ears Basset Rescue
Name of Receiving Rescue/Parties: San Antonio SPCA
Contact information (publicly viewable on forum): Jerry Dunham, [email protected], 512-961-8398
Are you a 501c3: Yes
Additional Info/situation:
Peanut has been in a foster home in rural Oklahoma since early August. Her chance of being adopted there is very close to zero. We're moving her to San Antonio, where she'll attend PetSmart adoption events and is expected to find a new home quickly. She'll be in Wichita Falls starting tomorrow (in Chihuahua rescue!).
Peanut has a ride from Granbury to San Antonio on Sunday with a Pilots N Paws couple, but on the ground, and starting at noon. Think of it as flying very low, appropriate for a low rider like a Basset. If we can get Peanut from Wichita Falls to Granbury by air we'll have a transport. Finding ground transport for this leg, considering where Granbury is, is very unlikely. This will run from KIP to 0TX1.
If it's needed to make this work, our Chihuahua rescue friend in Wichita Falls could bring Peanut to Bowie and meet you at 0F2. If you're coming from the DFW area this would save you flying all the way to Kickapoo.
Peanut is cautious with people she doesn't know, and should be considered a possible runner. Bassets can't run very fast, but you still don't want to be chasing her down across a runway. Reasonable care is really all you need.
I checked my weather sources, which aren't as good as yours, and the weather for Sunday morning looks quite hopeful. If someone knows otherwise, please let me know.
Many thanks for all you do for the homeless animals!
