Do you have a rough idea when you'd be getting to Jackson? If so I'll ensure I've got a plane booked.
At the very earliest I would see myself launching around 7:30, pick up Urkel in Branson around 9:30, and get into Jackson around 12:30 CST. These are all no-wind calculations, so things may change a bit. Round trip for me would be around 450 nm, which is entirely doable. I would suggest booking planning on getting into Jackson around noon, just in case I catch some nice tailwinds and get in early.

Keep me posted.

Eric, let us know if you want to do a leg from Chattanooga.

Otherwise, I can swing by Chattanooga. I am Instrument rated and current but since this is winter, I am concerned with icing since I will have to go at 8000-10000ft to go over the mountains.

Matt,

Quick question: could you take another dog with you?

Chris and I tried to transfer this fellow from Jackson to SC but had to scrap the trip. We are thinking we could try to transport him (if not already done), let us know your thoughts.

Christophe, if it would be easier we can meet at CZL instead so you don't have to come over the mountains. And if the other dog can squeeze into a 172 I'm up for it. I've only transported for a Sheltie rescue that I foster for as well so I don't have a ton of experience transporting larger dogs.

All - would Sunday the 29th also be a day to do this transport? I ask because I'm looking to potentially take another dog with me from Branson/Springfield and connect with a pilot here in Memphis for the second leg, but the one day he can't fly is on the 28th. If not, we will still proceed as planned on Saturday.

Mark - you should be able to fit both dogs; Urkel looks small, and the other is only 40 lbs. I fit 2 (could have taken all 3, but one wasn't getting along with the others) Weimaraners in a 182. If you have a crate that will fit, one might be able to ride in the baggage area.

The 29th is okay with me. Keep us posted, and I'll change my plane reservation for Sunday the 29th if needed. I have nearly all sizes of crates, so I should be okay on transporting both dogs if needed.

Hi, I am on board for the 29th, I recommend we now move to a single email thread to finish the logistical details. Mark, could you please PM me your email address?
