Two Redbone Coonhound pups, very frightened in the shelter. San Antonio SPCA can take them. Krista is local to the shelter and will be co-ordinating the transport. We'll have to find out their actual weight and approximate age from the shelter, but you can see from the photo at the above link that they aren't tiny puppies. I'm going to guess that they're 45 pounds apiece, but I could be off 15 pounds in either direction.

Originating airport could be HQZ. Destination needs to be 5C1. San Antonio SPCA is actually in Pipe Creek, which isn't far from Boerne. My understanding is that weather on Sunday won't be good for flying, so we're hoping to do this Friday or Saturday.

This can be done in two legs, with a handoff somewhere around Waco to Temple, or as one leg. Whatever part of it you can do, either respond here or e-mail Krista and we'll work to build the transport around your schedule.

This will work best for the San Antonio end if the pups arrive at 5C1 in the evening. Meeting a flight during a workday is difficult, and all SPCA volunteers will be at an adoption event during the day on Saturday. If it's best for the pilot(s) for it to arrive during the day, we'll figure something out.

Thank you for all you do for the homeless animals!

I have spoken with the shelter. The puppies are 3-4 months old. Their scale is broken but they are estimating their weight at around 25lbs each.

Jerry,

I am scheduled to transport a Chesapeake Bay Retreiver this weekend; however, I have not heard back from any of the parties involved.

If I don't hear anything by tomorrow, Friday morning at the latest, I can pick up these pups.

I don't want to wish for no success for the Chessie, but we'll be anxiously awaiting your word regarding your availability. Thank you for your interest in helping.

I can make this run tomorrow, Friday 4-11.

It would be best if we can get the pups aboard sometime around noon, so I can drop them off early in the afternoon before continuing on to Houston. Probably a smoother ride for them earlier in the day, as well. I'll have a puppy wrangler along for the ride as well.

Feel free to call me at cell 979 218 6153.

One hound pup was adopted from the shelter. The other flew to rescue in San Antonio yesterday. I'm closing this out as "Done".

Thank you, Chuck, for another great save!
