Date ready for transport: By weekend beginning Friday, June 13, 2014
Additional info/situation:

Justin and Lumberjack Rescue saved "Destiny" and her six small pups from being PTS at the Bossier City (LA) Animal Shelter. He has been fostering them for several weeks and they are now being weaned and Destiny spayed. They are ready to travel NOW (as of 6/18/14)

We did this identical trip (almost) several months ago with our drop-off location being in Minneapolis. Understand Minneapolis and Eau Claire are about 90 miles apart, so assume we will follow almost the same geographical line to get there. We will need at least 4 pilots to complete the run. I have 2 volunteers to kick off the trip on Saturday, June 21, and this will get them 150-200 miles past Memphis. After that, we are open. Mom is small, so a medium crate will do her nicely. We can split up the pups into two mediums, if one large is not feasible.

I'm based in Memphis and can either do the first leg to Memphis or Little Rock, or do a second leg to St. Louis or thereabouts. I'm open both the 14th and 15th, and I've booked our 182 for Saturday the 14th so it's reserved. At the moment it's still open on the 15th.

Thanks, Chris and Jim. Any St. Louis pilots available to take Leg 3? You tell us how far/where you want to fly to and we'll try to find another pilot to meet you there.
I haven't looked at the mileage, but it would seem we would only need one more pilot (to final destination) once we get a MO or NE volunteer to meet Jim. Does that seem right?

Springhill Airport, LA SPH to Covington, TN M05 - 246 NM
Covington, TN M04 to Moberly, MO MBY - 270 NM
Moberly, MO MBY to Eau Claire, WI EAU - 328 NM
You are looking at about 843 NM total.
I will fly the 270 NM up into MO. If any ST Louis Pilot could meet me closer to STL, that would be great.

PS, since Chris and I would be ferrying to the pickup or from the drop off, look on the PNP forum for another request to fill the empty seats. I will look , too.

Thanks, Jim. I will. I don't mind breaking up that Moberly (or similar stop) to Eau Claire into 2 legs if that will get us some volunteer pilots. Fortunately, we will have lots of daylight now so we're still looking at a comfortable one-day trip.

Pilots, Moberly is NOT "set in stone." Send us your suggestions and we'll work with what you can do.

Thanks all,

Carolyn

Transport is being moved to Saturday, June 21st at the earliest. Anybody out there able to fly a third and/or fourth leg from St. Louis up to WI?

I can pick them up anywhere in NW Illinois or East Central Iowa and take them all the way to Black River Falls. Sorry the weekend of the 21st won't work for me, but 27-29 will work fine. Let me know if we can help.

NOTE: LAB IS NOT GOING WITH US ANY LONGER. He is already in Wisconsin via ground transport. So, hopefully, this will allow additional pilots (who were hesitant to try to fit so many dogs into their plane) to step forward. Here is what we need for Saturday:

Moberly, MO (or similar airport in area N of STL) to NW IL or E Central IA

NW IL or E Central IA to Black River Falls, WI

Please help if you can. Puppies are at prime adoptable stage right now. Being black, they already have one strike against them. Once they get to that gangly young Lab stage, they will have more trouble finding homes. Am hoping the weather will cooperate, as well.

Thanks, all.
