FILLED Richmond, VA to Claremont, NH (Border Collie)

Post by vthokienc » Tue Aug 25, 2009 7:59 pm

I would love to participate in the Pilots n Paws 5000 effort to move some rescue dogs from eastern NC to New Hampshire. Pilots N Paws is a GREAT organization with some amazing pilots & they have flown some my pups in the past. I need transport for one medium sized dog (approx 35 pounds) that needs to go to her new forever home. She is a little border collie mix mama named Cami that needs to travel to NH to get to her new home. She has had a very difficult life but is super sweet despite the cards she has been dealt in life. Things are about to change for her!
Are there any pilots that could help get her up north? I can get her to Richmond, VA any time this coming weekend (9/11,12,13) & we could possibly work on some ground transport up in NH and on this end if we need to. The closest airports in NH that they could go to are: Claremont, Newport, Lebanon, or Keene. Claremont & Newport do not have any night lights! This trip would probably have to be broken up into 2 flight legs. Maybe one from VA to CT area & one the rest of the way up to NH. Please pilots volunteer for whatever you can help do & we will try to fill the rest. Thank you SO much!
Please let me know if this flight plan would work well with any of the pilot's schedules! Even if you could fly her part of the way, that would be a huge help as we are trying to arrange ground transport as well. She will be traveling from Out of the Woods Dog Rescue to Lonestar Pyrs & Paws North. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. Thanks,

Julianne Harris

Julianne,

I will be in the Currituck, NC area around Sept 5-7. I will be flying from there back up to NH - perhaps we can work something out?

Due to Tropical Storm Danny a couple of weekends ago, this transport was not able to happen so I still need help getting a medium sized Border Collie from eastern NC or Richmond, VA to NH -- going from foster home to approved permanent home.

Any pilots out there that can help get Cami to her new home this weekend? This is the 4th attempt at transporting her & it is not looking promising. Her new adoptive owner is starting to get frustrated & is ready for his new companion to be there. This is a perfect fit between an older gentleman & an older dog! Please help. Thanks,

Julianne

Hi. Perhaps I can help. We have a transport scheduled from Charlotte NC to Portsmouth NH next Friday (9/18), with a stop over in Atlantic City for the handoff between two pilots. So, if you find someone to take Cami from Richmond to Atlantic City (KACY), I can take her the rest of the way up to NH. (I will also ask the other pilot involved in the transport whether she would be able to stop by Richmond on the way up to Atlantic City.)

Two questions. Does Cami get along with other dogs? And could you arrange for some ground transport from Portsmouth to Claremont?

Hi my name is Anna and I got your message about getting the dog to Atlantic City. I will need to talk to my copilot and see if we can, but from my stand point if the dog is not to heavy and can fit in the cargo hold of a Piper Cherokee 180 it could work out. Send me more info of the dog to [email protected]. Also Maybe someone can drive the dog to Williamsbirg Jamestown Airport we land there for lunch with the other dog just a seggestion make it easier, but if you can't we will stick to Richmond.

Tom
If you can get Cami to Portsmouth (PSM) I'll fly it to Claremont (or Keene or Lebanon)
Let me know if this helps out at all.
