Jake-stolen dog is going home Portland,OR - Pocatello,ID

Post by deeogee1 » Sat Sep 19, 2009 4:03 pm

Transport help needed ASAP--Please help Jake get back home.
My red heeler pup (Jake) was picked up by someone in Pocatello, Idaho and
hauled to Portland, Oregon area. He escaped from his new captor and ended
up in the Dog Pound. He has a micro chip. When the shelter scanned him
they called us to confirm that he was our dog. We can't afford to make the
trip from Idaho to Portland in order to rescue him. My little girl would
like to have our dog back. I was wondering if someone is planning on
making a trip from the Portland area to Southeast Idaho would be so kind
to give Jake a lift. Jake is approx. 1 year old, he loves people and kids.
He is current on all his shots and has been wormed this spring. He has
been missing for almost a month, and has been in the shelter for about a
week. The shelter has threatened to put him down if I don't find out some
way to transport him back home.

Joanne,

We will be driving from the Portland area east on Wednesday or Thursday of this week. Would be happy to bring him if we could meet at an agreed point on I-84. Due to the fact that we will be bringing our dog also, Jake will need to ride in a crate. Can pick him up and keep him for a day or two if he isn't a jumper or digger. Would be best if the pound can keep him until we leave however. If you think we can help, please put me in contact with Jake's people.

regards, BrianE

yes, thank you Brian and Beverly!! I would like to add that both Brian and Beverly are pilots who volunteer for Pilots N Paws as well as friends of mine. Proud to call you both that!! They just happen to be in their motorcoach this week , headed home, and through their kindness, Jake is now safely nuzzled in a comfortable place and headed home to his family!

We're happy to say that Jake has finished his luxury motorhome trip and was transferred into the back of "his" pickup for the final leg of his trip home. Pocatello cattle ranchers Chantz and Courtney met us at a local Flying J truck stop and the last we say of the little guy was a big smile with his face in the wind headed back to his cows.

This is wonderful, thank you SO MUCH Brian and Beverly, you certainly went above the call on this one and Jake is now back on his cattle ranch, no doubt doing what he loves best, herding :D

Love his Rin Tin Tin stance in this photo!
