Dalmatian Rescue of Tampa Bay is seeking help to get PRISSY an adorable, over-bred, 5 year old, female Dal we pulled from the Valdosta, GA shelter to Tampa, FL. She had just had a littler of puppies who were all euthanized because the shelter had no place to care for them... so very sad. She is also a high heartworm positive and her new foster will have her treated in Tampa. She must be spayed prior to leaving for Tampa so now we need find a way to get her there safely without causing her anymore pain than she is will be in from the spay. A flight might be the fastest way to accomplish that.
Our current situation is that she will need to be picked up from the Vet. Hospital in Valdosta on Friday, January 2nd between 4:30p and 5:30p. Hopefully, we can get a volunteer to get her to an airport in Valdosta if a flight is available. KVLD seems to be the closest, but we are also looking into a volunteer overnighting her... maybe near Jax, FL. We plan to have the clinic send her with whatever meds she needs to keep comfortable.
We'd like to keep to a minimum the number of times she has to be loaded/unloaded during transport; so if a pilot could bring her to a Tampa area airport such as Tampa North X39 (nearest me) or Vandenburg (KVDF) it would be perfect though we could work with anything in between. Transport plans are still being developed other than she MUST be picked-up 1/2/09 by 5pm.
If any of you can help please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org or email Susan at email@example.com. We welcome any ideas you might have to get her to her foster.
We appreciate all you do to help us get these fur-kids another chance at the good life.
