Hi there,
This poor boy, barb wire can certainly do some damage to an animal.
Unfortunately, the distance you are asking for is beyond what is capable for a small plane pilot. Normally, a fly time out of approximately 3 hours is the average for most pilots. A few travel less then that and some a little more. This is the part that is restrictive when you are dealing with a small plane. Multi-leg flights are very complicated due to changing weather conditions at each transfer point. It is not impossible but complicated to coordinate.
Is there any way that someone from either end could do a partial ground transport with a pilot assist somewhere along the route? Not all the pilots who fly with PNP have listed themselves on this site but many do read the animal flight board and if they can help they will contact you.
Another option is for someone, possibly the adopter, to purchase a ticket and fly to MN to pick this boy up. He can check him in a crate as part of his luggage. Of course a non-stop flight would be best. Continental and Delta have received good reports from those I know in rescue who have used them.
Let us know if you can shorten the route and if you can, re-post your request keeping the pilot limitations in mind.
Thanks,
Debi
