I am overwhelmed at your responses! I am still working on volunteers along the route. Can any of you take two dogs about the same size?

Let me check on my volunteer emails and will get back to you!
Thank you
Ava

All,
I guess I am the first leg of this flight on either saturday or sunday. From a weight and balance standpoint, I can handle two dogs. I need to find two crates that will fit in the back of my Bonanza and still be comforable for the pax's. If it's decided by all that two will work, let me know and I will start my search.

mrbrightman wrote:I am out of Leesburg VA (JYO) and can tentatively do the middle leg from anywhere around RDU (recommend a smaller airport for fuel and traffic considerations) to anywhere outside of the FRZ. Annapolis, Stafford, Easton..........whichever. I will know about my other potential committments this week. I can promise that I will be available one of the days that weekend,,,,,,,,,,,,which one I dont know.

If this helps, let me know.

Will the dog(s) be crated?

Looks like Danville (KDAN) may be a better option than RDU. It gets the dogs closer to you and only adds 20 miles to my leg. Does that work? 100LL is $4.15 / gal FS.

To all

I can fly into 2W5.

Can we try to coordinate this outside of this site somehow............took me a long time just to find this posting again!

my email is [email protected].

Would be nice to get this nailed down by next monday.

Would like to recommend not using RDU. Fuel is way expensive. Alternated include IGX Chapel Hill, LHZ Franklin Cnty, JNX Johnston Cnty

Danville is fine..........I can take two dogs (one large and one medium crate)

Sorry for the confusion on previous emails......did not notice we had another page with more responses!!

I will let you know which day (Sat or Sun) and what time I can fly. I will also start looking at 10 day forecasts closer............

Well, looks like this request is cancelled. A guardian angel put us in touch with another rescue that is making that transport via ground and has offered to take our dog too. This opens up your schedules for other rescues!

Thank you all for stepping up and working together to help me make this work.

Again, Bless all you pilots for what you do for all the animals!

I just want you to know how appreciative I am for all of you digging in and helping a greenhorn. I have only attempted this once before to this degree, and that was over a year ago! Thank you for sending to your contacts and trying to walk me through the stages. I just felt like since we got the offer to hitch a ride within 100 miles of this dog's new home and this opened up your schedules for other needy rescue animals, it was the right thing to do.

(The second dog in question found a ride too)

I am on the volunteer list, so if you need an emergency foster in the Columbia SC area, let me know.
Thank you again.....
